The SFCT program is so effective because it is a gross motor skill that is easy to learn, easy to remember, and easy to use.

 

The techniques are specifically designed to rectify a weakness in the area of subject control, specifically for use with a belligerent or resistant subject when there is a need to arrest or restrain. The SFCT program is an effective method of subject control whereby a single person would be able to control, and handcuff a subject without the help of a backup person if necessary.
